This has been a pretty fun week. P-day was great. We did our usual P-day things. Then we went to the church for basketball. Being close to other missionaries makes P-day a lot better. On Tuesday we went to the zoo! Not just for fun though. That’s where we do our weekly service. I also got to meet one of our investigators Tuesday. His name is Dameon and he is 15 years old. He’s pretty awesome. He keeps saying “before I joined the church” and he hasn’t even been baptized yet. We are just waiting for him to get permission from his grandparents.
Wednesday we had zone training. It was very good. The rest of the day was filled with a lot of tracting. We did a lot of that because we are both pretty new to the area. Thursday was mostly tracting and other finding techniques. The same with Friday. We did visit some other people too though.
Saturday we did some service with a member. Then we did a lot of tracting. We decided to go to Dominoe’s for dinner. When we got there we were greeted by a bullet proof window on the counter. And we had to talk through a phone to order. That doesn’t inspire confidence in the area I’m in. It was pretty crazy. I hear sirens almost everyday too. It’s very different than Maryville, but it’s still nice and I enjoy it. We also have a ton of abandoned houses here. So a lot of times we knock on a door that nobody even lives at.
Sunday was church. And we were the speakers. I finally gave my first talk since I left. This ward didn’t waste any time in asking me. I did have most of the week to prepare though. So, it wasn’t on the spot at least. It was a nice 15 minute talk. The rest of the day wasn’t very effective. But we got some good work done.
Anyway, that was my week. It was quite fun and adventurous.
